This workshop is led by Primary Behaviour Service (PBS) and will explore attuned connection, connection styles, different types of consequences and the barriers to using natural consequences.

Anxiety and distressed behaviours

Delivered by the Early Years Inclusion team, this workshop will cover the triggers around distressed behaviours. We will offer strategies to support children when they need help with co-regulation and the reasonable adjustments that can be made to support them to begin to self-regulate.

A child’s voice

Delivered by Service for Young Children’s early years Speech and Language Therapy Advisor; this workshop explores how adults can expand upon children's communication and language skills in an ever-changing world. We will explore how the use of visuals and technology can be used to develop a child’s vocabulary, no matter what their age or stage of development.

The Treasure Trove of Play

One man’s junk is another man’s treasure!

This workshop will delve into the progression of children’s play and the powerful impact that tinkering with treasure can have on our youngest and most inexperienced learners. Through the lens of treasure baskets and heuristic play, we will explore how everyday objects can spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and support deep-level learning. Practical activities and planning strategies will be shared to help practitioners tune into children’s motivations and create rich, responsive environments that nurture independent thinking and discovery.

Take it Outside

This workshop highlights the benefits of taking our learning outdoors and igniting the awe and wonder of the natural world for our young children. We will introduce the ‘seven frEEs’ and focus on how we can embed sustainability in early years through connecting children with nature. Backed by research and endorsed by many, you’ll leave with many practical ‘golden acorns’ for taking learning outside while helping children develop an understanding of their role in creating a sustainable planet.
